So you’re looking for the perfect wedding band? You’ve come to the right place!
We’ve been playing weddings for ‘Donkeys’ years and we think we have found the perfect balance.
From classic waltzes to cracking modern tunes, 50’s jives to Metallica (If you like!)
It can be done!!
The trick is approaching these songs with the respect that made them ‘classics’ in the first place. It doesn’t have to be ‘cheesy’ or ‘obvious’, and many ‘wedding’ bands have missed this.
We pride ourselves in not only covering most genres of music, but also pleasing the many different age groups you will have at your wedding, without negotiating the essence of a good night out.
(Having said that, if you’re Frank Zappa fans we may need some notice….)
Since you got me in a good mood, I have a few ‘tips’ for you when it comes to booking a band for your wedding.
1. Try your best to go see a potential band more than once. (Many couples go see a band for 20 minutes of their first set and book them. Only to find they don’t know how to keep an audience happy for a whole night.)
2. E-mail a few different bands to get an average price. (DON’T be ripped off! Many wedding sites charge an extra fee just for making a phone call. Contact the band direct. They will tell you if they work through an agency, website or directly.)
3. Make sure the band you have seen will have the same members on the night. (Many bands will call in extra musicians if you ‘flash the cash’. They also have a tendency to fall out with each other. Check that the band you want is the band that will be there!)
4. Remember that your mums and dads, aunties and uncles aint as young as they once were. (You know that they have to be happy too! Make sure the band can cover practically anything.)
